Abstract
Analysis of Case Closures in Vocational Rehabilitation Centers based on Status Codes of Vocational Rehabilitation in the United States Park, Hee Chan(The Catholic University of Korea) The purpose of the study was to investigate literatures on status codes of vocational rehabilitation in the United States and to analyze closure types in vocational rehabilitation centers in Korea. Literature review and data analysis were major research methods. The subjects of the study were 182 and 144 people, respectively, who were referred to two vocational rehabilitation centers during 2004 year. The closures were analyzed at the time of June 2007 based on 5 types such as closed while the individual was an applicant, but before a determination of eligibility(08); closed after a determination of eligibility, from an order of selection waiting list(38); closed after a determination of eligibility, but before an IPE was developed or before services under an IPE were initiated(30); closed after the individual were initiated, without an employment outcome(28); and closed after the individual achieved an employment outcome(26). The closure types of the one rehabilitation center were 19.8% of code 08, 4.4% of code 38, 20.3% of code 30, 20.9% of code 28, 19.2% of code 26, and 15.4% were not closed at the last day of June 2007. The closure types of the other rehabilitation center were 17.4% of code 08, 10.4% of code 38, 14.6% of code 30, 37.5% of code 28, 20.1% of code 26. Implications of the study and discussions were followed.
